How much does each session cost?

What is your cancellation policy?

All appointments must be cancelled 24hours in advance to not incur a fee. The late-cancellation/no-show fee is the price of the session. No show is defined as not attending a scheduled session. If the client does not show up within 15 minutes of the start of their session, the therapist will cancel the session and charge the late-cancellation/no-show fee.

Do you take insurance?

Fireside Psychotherapy is in-network with Premera (in Washington Sate). Fireside will submit insurance claims directly to Premera on the client's behalf. Individual plans will determine how much client's are charged per session.

*Dr. Nicholson is also in-network with UnitedHealthCare (UHC) in Washington state. For clients working with him, who have UHC, he will submit claims directly to UHC on the their behalf. Individual plans will determine how much client's are charged per session.

Anyone who does not have Premera or UHC, will be required to pay out-of-pocket for therapeutic services. However, Fireside can offer you a super-bill at the end of the month, upon request, to submit your own claims to your insurance. Some insurances can reimbursement for out-of-network services. Check with your insurance provider to see if this is an option.

Where do we meet?

You have the option to meet in person or online. Talk with your therapist about which option is right for you.

How long does therapy take?

It varies from client to client. Duration of therapy depends on the severity of your presenting problem, your family of origin, your support network, your commitment to doing the work in and outside of therapy, and your collaboration with your therapist.

Research shows that much of what influences the therapy process is "extra-therapuetic factors". That means that while the 55-minute session may be beneficial, your move towards healing depends on your continued work outside of sessions.

It is common for substantial change not to be noticed until after 8 to 12 sessions. This is why Fireside Psychotherapy asks client to commit to at least 5 or 6 weekly sessions to begin to notice some movement towards health.

What other services could I be charged for?
